Vice President Biden Visits Delta College
On February 16, 2010, the Vice President of the United States, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., visited the Great Lakes Bay Region to discuss how The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) investments are improving communities and creating jobs in Saginaw, the region and across the state of Michigan.
Vice President Biden toured the chemical processing simulation lab at Delta College, which trains people for jobs at Dow Corning and Hemlock Semiconductor Group, as well as for other companies in the region. The simulation lab features process equipment similar to what is seen in many chemical manufacturing sites in the Great Lakes Bay Region. And, much of the equipment was donated by Dow Corning, with additional support from the Dow Chemical Company.
The Vice President was also joined by Administrator of the Small Business Administration Karen Mills and Michigan Senator Carl Levin.
