PTA Club

The Physical Therapist Assistant Club provides opportunities for members to create lasting relationships with fellow PTA students and network with professionals in this growing field. As a member, you'll develop your PTA skills while giving back to the community.

PTA Club members are very active in the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond. Hosting events such as the Color Run, participating in many service activities and even traveling to Kenya, this group is able to take valuable life experience with them once they leave Delta.

Member Benefits

The primary benefit of membership in the Physical Therapy Assistant club is the opporunity to network with professionals in PTA or related fields. The club participates in many community service activities, including Project Shared collecting unused assistance devices such as wheel chairs and crutches for people who need them and Operation Christmas Child to gather toys for children in third world countries, as well as SVSU's Thunder in the Valley to help make sure Paralympic athletes are safe, provide encouragement and assist with timing and scoring.

Members also frequently volunteer at local nursing homes to gain experience taking care of patients and performing tasks such as taking blood pressures. The club also hosts an annual Color Run fundraising event.

"The club makes physical therapy exciting and makes me excited to be in this profession and help people whenever I can. We have opportunities for volunteer service, to help out in the community and fundraising. It is a great way to develop your skills as a PTA."
