Paraprofessional Certification

ParaPro Assessment through the ETS Praxis Series® is the new certification test for Paraprofessionals. See "ParaPro Assessment through ETS" below to get started.

Available Tests

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)

ASE is an independent, non-profit organization.  Since 1972 they have worked to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying repair and service professionals. 

How to register
    1. Register with ASE
    2. Contact us at 989-686-9182 to schedule your testing appointment. Make sure to have your name, home address, email phone number, ASE number, and test codes of the certification exams you are registered to take.
    3. Arrive on time for your appointment. Please bring confirmation of your ASE number with you.
 CLEP

How would you like to get college credit for what you already know? The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) offers you the opportunity to earn credit for 33 college subject examinations and speed up your education. You don't need to be a Delta student to take a CLEP exam with us.

How to register
  1. Create an account with College Board.
  2. Select the exam and pay $85 examination fee directly to  College Board. Make sure to select your school when registering.
  3. Complete the Delta College Testing Center Services Request form, including a $35 administration fee payable directly to Delta College; nonrefundable and non-transferable.
  4. Return the form to testingcenter@delta.edu.
  5. Upon receipt of above, you will be contacted to schedule your appointment and to receive last minute instructions.  All appointments will be scheduled Monday - Thursday 10am - 7:45pm.  During Fall and Winter semesters, you may also schedule an appointment on Fridays 10am - 2:45pm.
  6. Arrive on time for your appointment, and bring your CLEP ticket with you.

Certain members of the U.S. Armed Services, veterans, their spouses, and civilian employees may be eligible for DANTES funding to take a CLEP exam. Proper Military ID is required on the day of testing. All DANTES eligible service members will be required to pay Delta College's administrative fee of $35, or $25 for active military.

DSST

DSST exams are designed to help active military members and veterans pursue their educational goals and earn degrees during and after their service.  You don't have to be a Delta student to take a DSST exam with us.

How to register
  1. Complete the Delta Testing Center Services Request form, including a $35 administration fee payable directly to Delta College; nonrefundable and non-transferable.
  2. Return the form to testingcenter@delta.edu.

Test day

EETC

The Equipment & Engine Training Council is a non-profit professional organization that was incorporated in November, 1997.  The objective of the organization is to promote and support the education and training of service technicians in outdoor power equipment, agriculture, and commercial power equipment technology.  In order to raise the level of technicians in the power equipment industry, the EETC developed and maintains the EETC Technician Certification Program.  THE EETC is the certifying body for the program.  Technicians may choose from seven available tests that were developed by industry professionals to ensure the latest technologies are included.

How to register
  1. In order to keep the EETC certification tests secure and of value to you as an individual technician, all of our tests are given by a test administrator or proctor. Your first step is to find a proctor near you. There may be several different proctors in your area. You may contact any or all of them to arrange the best date, time and location for you to take the test.
  2. Complete the test registration form. Be sure to enter the test administrator's name and information, the test date and time you have arranged, and send the fully completed form, along with payment, to the EETC Certification Center.
  3. We strongly recommend that you order your study guide at the same time you send in your test registration form.
  4. Study for your test. There are sample questions taken from the test in your study guide so that you can check yourself. The answers for the sample questions are in the back of the guide.
Test day
  1. Arrive 20 minutes early on the day of your test. This will give you time to sign in and receive instructions. You will have two hours to complete the test.
Test results
  1. You will receive notification of your test results in the mail within ten days.
  2. If you have successfully passed the test, you will receive a certificate, patch, and chevron along with a congratulatory letter.
  3. If you are unsuccessful in passing the test, you will receive a letter outlining the areas of the test that will need improvement. You can re-take the test by contacting the test administrator/proctor to arrange a date, time, and location. You will need to complete a new registration form and indicate on the form and indicate on the form that you are re-testing.
ParaPro Assessment through ETS

 ParaPro Assessment through the ETS Praxis Series® is the new certification test for Paraprofessionals! The Michigan Department of Education has set a qualifying passing score of 460 or higher.

How to Register
  1. Call us at 989-686-9182 to schedule an appointment.
  2.  A non-transferable, non-refundable payment of $35 is due at the time of scheduling. Seating is limited; no walk-ins allowed.
  3. Bring a credit card with you to your appointment. You will pay the vendor $55 per assessment at the time of testing.

 

GED 

Take your GED® tests close to home in the Delta College Testing Center.  The GED®  tests are split up into four subject areas. Most students schedule one subject at a time, however you can schedule them as you prefer and in any order you would like.

The subjects are:

  • Science (computerized exam, 90 minutes)
  • Social Studies (computerized exam, 90 minutes)
  • Reasoning Through Language Arts (computerized exam, 150 minutes including a 10-minute break)
  • Mathematical Reasoning (computerized exam, 115 minutes)

Sign up for MyGED™ and register for your exams.

Test day
  1. Report to Room A133, the Delta College Testing Center. Test sessions begin promptly as listed on your confirmation with no exceptions and no late arrivals.
  2. A valid (current) government-issued photo ID  is required (e.g., driver's license, state ID, passport).
Test results

Scores will be available online at a student's  MyGED™ account the same day he or she tests.

How to register

Call 989-686-9182 to schedule an appointment. A non-transferable, non-refundable payment of $20 per subject/test is due at the time of scheduling. Seating is limited; no walk-ins allowed.

Test/retest policy

If a candidate is retesting in WorkKeys® computer/Internet-based subject, the test delivery platform will automatically assign an alternate test form. The candidate may take all available forms without a waiting period. After the candidate has taken all forms, the candidate MUST wait 30 days before testing again. After the 30 day waiting period, the candidate may register and retest. It is strongly recommended that candidates receive additional training prior to retesting. ACT® recommends the use of KeyTrain® to improve examinee skill levels.

Test day

Valid driver's license or State ID is required for check-in on test day. Do NOT bring the following items:  food, drink, cell phones or other electronic devices. Hats may not be worn during testing.  

proctoring Services

Testing proctoring is available in the Delta College Testing Center.  We are a member of NCTA and the Consortium of College Testing Centers. Proctored exams will be returned to your college or university by fax, email or US mail.
