ENG 228, Masterpieces of World Literature: Beginning through 1600s
Prerequisite: A "C" grade or better in a college level composition I course or permission of instructor. Surveys world literature through 1600 that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the masterpieces of the Western tradition. Concentrates on recurring themes, such as a person's relationship to God and nature, individual and social morality, liberty and responsibility, social and economic justice, and the search for a meaningful existence. Credit may be earned in ENG 228 or ENG 228H but not in both. (45-0)
