Planetarium Lighting Upgrades
New LED lights will be installed in place of the current metal halide lights at the Delta College Planetarium. Metal halide bulbs require time to warm up before they turn on making them less efficient than LED bulbs. Overhead lights will be replaced in the lobby and conference room 110 and sconces will be installed in the theater aisles. The new LED lights will provide better lighting while reducing energy costs. In addition, the exterior canister lights will also be replaced with more efficient lighting components. Tony Khalil in Facilities along with MacMillan Associates anticipate the project taking place over the summer.
