Delta College has been named as one of the 150 best community colleges in the nation by the philanthropic Aspen Institute. Delta College is one of only three Michigan community colleges on the list. The other two are Macomb Community College, Warren, and Mott Community College, Flint.
"It’s an honor to be recognized as one of the top community colleges in the nation at helping students succeed," said Dr. Jean Goodnow, President.
The 150 institutions hail from 37 states, and have all demonstrated strong outcomes in three areas of student success; rate of students' persistence, completion, and transfer; consistent improvement in outcomes over time; and equity in outcomes for students of all racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
The Aspen Institute is an educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, DC.
Some seven million students – youth and adult learners – enroll in America’s nearly 1,200 public and private community colleges every year.
