Short Story Workshop
Every story has a beginning, middle, and end. In this workshop, we’ll discuss how to pack a punch with short stories-no matter the length. From longer traditional forms to flash fiction of 500 words or less, we will cover characterization, description, setting, and dialogue. Participants will be provided with in-class writing prompts and tips for seeking publication.

Lori A. May is the author of four books including The Low-Residency MFA Handbook: A Guide for Prospective Creative Writing Students (Continuum, 2011). She has contributed to magazines including The Writer, Writer's Digest, and American Road. Her work has also appeared in publications such as Passages North, Caper Literary Journal, Hippocampus Magazine, and qarrtsiluni.
