CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
If you are a healthcare professional who needs to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings, this course if for you. The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers classroom course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Upon completion of this 4 hour course and mandatory written exam, you will be able to respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies in your healthcare environment and you will receive certification for 2 years.
A CPR pocket mask is required for this class and can be purchased in the Delta College Bookstore of Delta's Main Campus. CPR masks will not be available in the classroom. Students are responsible for purchasing a CPR pocket mask prior to the start of class and may be dismissed if they arrive without one. As this is a certification class, you must arrive on time in order to receive all of the necessary instruction/information needed to demonstrate your proficiency for certification.
