How to Email a CINAHL Plus Article
Sometimes, you need to email a CINAHL Plus full-text article to someone, like your professor. Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to email a full-text article that you found within the CINAHL Plus database.
Click on the "PDF Full Text" link OR the "HTML Full Text" link. You need to make the full-text of the article appear.
Click on the email (envelope) button on the far right of the screen.
A. In the "E-mail from:" box, type YOUR email address.
B. In the "E-mail to:" box, type where you want the article to go, like your professor's email address.
C. It is up to you if you want to type a topic in the "Subject:" box. It does help the professor to identify the email.
D. The "Comments:" box is optional, also.
E. Please pay attention to the boxes that correspond to "PDF as separate attachment" OR "HTML Full Text." Click within the box so that CINAHL Plus sends the PDF article OR the HTML full-text of the article. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A CHECK MARK WITHIN THE BOX SO THAT CINAHL PLUS KNOWS TO SEND THE ENTIRE ARTICLE.
F. CINAHL Plus is able to include the citation formatted in AMA, MLA, or APA format. Click on the down arrow under "Citation Format" to choose the format of your choice.
G. Click on the "SEND" button and CINAHL Plus will send the article.
We will pretend that you sent the article to a professor by the name of Mark Ewing at firstname.lastname@example.org. This is what the incoming email would look like when the instructor receives the email. The professor can see the paper clip button that indicates that the entire article is ATTACHED. The professor can click on the email and open up the file.
The email opens up to where the instructor can click on the attachment in order to view the entire article.
