There is no question that citation builders are helpful in giving the student an idea on how to cite a specific piece of work. However, the programs do NOT do everything for you. Capitalization and punctuation are examples of two concerns when working with these programs. Please remember that the most authoritative resource for determining the proper way to cite something is the LATEST version of the different style manuals in paper form, such as the "MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers" (7th ed.) and the "Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association" (6th ed.).

Please note that these two paper editions were updated in 2009. Make sure that the citation builder reflects the 2009 updated edition.
