PLEASE NOTE that you have the ability to select the "full-text" option for CINAHL PLUS in order to retrieve "full-text" articles, only.  Although, there are many more full-text (entire) articles within CINAHL PLUS than CINAHL Basic, please note that there are a lot of records that are just citations within CINAHL Plus.


Chronicle of Higher Education
"Delta College has purchased a college-wide site license for the The Chronicle of Higher Education." The full-text of each print issue is accessible from 1989 to the present.  The online version of "Chronicle of Higher Education" is available from ON-CAMPUS. Access is not available from off-campus.


CultureGrams (ON-Campus Link)
"Since its beginnings in 1974, the aim of CultureGrams has been to foster understanding and appreciation of the world's countries and peoples by creating and publishing excellent content. Today the CultureGrams series is one of the most trusted and widely used cultural reference and curriculum products in the education, government, and non-profit arenas." This is a GREAT source to obtain factual information about a country, especially information about a country's culture. 


ERIC (FREE Governmental Website)

The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. ERIC has been a great source of full-text articles for many, many years.

FirstSearch provides access to an electronic collection of bibliographic, abstract, and some full-text information from books, magazines, journals, newspapers, and the World Wide Web. The following indexes/databases are within FirstSearch: ArticleFirst; ECO (OCLC Electronic Collections Online); ERIC; GPO (Government Printing Office); MEDLINE; OAIster; SCIPIO;  WorldCat (World Catalog); WorldCat Dissertations.

PLEASE NOTE: The Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) has maintained the FirstSearch database for a number of years. OCLC is making changes to its databases and FirstSearch will be eliminated in December of 2015. OCLC will migrate FirstSearch databases to the new WorldCat Discovery database. OCLC continues to make improvements, but the early edition of WorldCat Discovery is available at this time. It IS a different search format than the familiar FirstSearch database.

Loislaw offers complete access to up-to-date primary law at the federal level and for all fifty states and the District of Columbia. This resource includes searchable access to Federal and State law databases including: U.S. Supreme Court Reports, Federal Circuit Courts, U.S. District Courts, U.S. Tax Court, Federal Rules, U.S. Constitution, U.S. Code, Public Laws of the United States, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register, U.S. Sentencing Commission Guidelines Manual, and Court rules and other primary law for all 50 states and Washington D.C. This database also features hyperlinks to all cited state and federal cases, statutes and other primary law.


Project Muse

Project Muse "is a leading provider of digital humanities and social science content for the scholarly community.  Since 1995 the MUSE journal collections have supported a wide array of research needs at academic, public, special, and school libraries worldwide. MUSE is the trusted source of complete, full-text versions of scholarly journals from many of the world's leading university presses and scholarly societies, with over 120 publishers currently participating."


PubMed and the National Library of Medicine  (FREE Governmental Website)

PubMed is a free service of the National Library of Medicine, that provides access to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed can provide some links to sites with free full-text articles and resources.


Scientific Journals from the Institute of Physics  (FREE Website)

The Institute of Physics provides online access to scientific journals. Some of the publications provide the full-text of the article, free of charge. The site provides a search box for searching the journals and obtaining a citation and abstract for those journals that are not accessible free of charge. Once you receive a citation, you can contact the Delta Library Reference Desk or Interlibrary Loan Department in order to try to interlibrary loan a copy of the article, for free. Please call the Reference Desk at 686-9560 or Interlibrary Loan Department at 686-9013.

Provides a single alphabetical listing of periodicals which contain full-text articles from the Michigan eLibrary databases. This list covers the databases (indexes) that are part of InfoTrac. 

Holdings List for Periodicals On The Delta College Library Shelves AND Some Popular Periodicals Within Databases
Provides an alphabetical list of the magazine and journals that are on the Delta College Library shelves. More and more periodicals are found within fee-based databases such as EBSCO and InfoTrac. We have listed some of the more popular periodicals that are NOT on the shelves, but the full-text of the publications CAN be found in databases such as EBSCO and InfoTrac.


Periodical Titles Arranged By Subject Found On The Delta College Library Shelves AND Online
Occasionally, some students need to find an article on a specific subject and would prefer to browse the periodical shelves. For example, some students need to find an article about ANY science topic. This list of periodicals will show which magazines and journals are on the shelves that will provide articles related to science or other subjects.
