  • Dow Chemical Great Lakes Bay Region Science and Engineering Festival - Fall 2013 Festival brought over 4000 middle school youth and members of the public to Delta College to experience the WOW of STEM, to meet and interact with professionals in STEM fields, to explore careers in STEM, and to get excited about fields that will provide career opportunities for them right here in our Great State of Michigan.  The event was extremely well received and there was a very visible (and audible!) air of excitement.
  • Opportunities for young people to engage in the exciting world of science and to see how it applies in so many ways to their daily lives.  "If I can provide a mentoring opportunity to even one young person that will change their life for the better, then I have had a successful life!"

  • "I believe that learning often happens best during recess, and I strive to provide an open and engaging learning environment.  It is my role to act as a guide to a student's learning."

  • "If you take a trail guide with you on a hike up a new mountain, you will still have to carry your own pack and hike your own mountain.  I will show you which trail to take and what you should put in your pack, but the rest is up to you.  However, the view from the top of that mountain is quite beautiful and the trip, although difficult, will be well worth it."
