3.025 Memorandum of Appointment
-
- Basic Appointments - Annual Contract
- A Faculty member will be assigned to teach thirty equated hours in the Fall and Winter semesters, unless some other arrangement is agreed upon by the Faculty member, the academic Associate Dean, and the Academic Dean. Each Memorandum of Appointment will be compatible with the academic calendar. In addition, the Faculty member will be available on campus for those functions that are basic to the organization and orderly completion of each semester under appointment.
- Faculty members will receive their contracted yearly salary on the basis of a bi-weekly payroll cycle paid seven calendar days after the end of the cycle.
- Faculty who receive compensation and subsequently do not perform the contracted work will reimburse the College for wages and benefits paid but not earned. All arrangements for reimbursement will be made by the Human Resources Office in consultation with the Faculty member and the academic Associate Dean. Final agreements must have Presidential approval. (Exception to the above is noted in Senate Policy 3.035 - Teaching Load Distribution.)
- Supplemental Appointments
- If the College has need for their services, Faculty members may elect to teach a third semester at the current pay rate as shown in the salary schedule.
- In divisions where the number of Faculty desiring employment during the third semester exceeds the positions available, a rotation plan equitable to all will be followed.
