Are you interested in a career in education, social work, psychology, sociology or philosophy but not sure where to begin?

Starting your educational journey in Delta College’s Associate in Arts program is the smart choice if you want to get ahead! At Delta, you’ll find customizable learning paths, small class sizes, affordable tuition rates and the resources you’ll need to succeed.

Customize your learning path.

“Many students want to start at a community college to test, ‘Is college the right path for me?’,” says Stacy Stremlow, associate director of Academic Advising. “The emphasis that Delta has on transfer is designed to help students find which pathway is the best pathway for them.”

In Michigan, public colleges and universities adhere to the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). So, if you’re not sure which major you’d like to choose or which university will be best, you can rest easy knowing your general education credits will transfer almost anywhere.

Get the support you need.

Whether you’re transitioning from high school to college, making a career change or looking to advance in your current field, you will find all the support you need at Delta College. “We have tutoring services, we have the WRIT Center, we have food assistance, all kinds of services that work together to ensure the whole student is supported,” boasts Christina Miller-Bellor, associate professor.

Delta’s small class sizes provide a supportive learning environment. “Do not be afraid to ask advisors, professors, anybody, for help because everybody that I’ve gone to has been incredibly helpful and so welcoming,” says Anthony Garza-Kukla, student. This close-knit atmosphere builds your confidence and ensures you’re prepared for the next step.

Save BIG!

“I wasn’t quite sure what I really wanted to do with my life,” reflects Anthony. “So, I thought that Delta would be a smart place to start because the cost is much lower than a four-year university.”

Delta offers the lowest in-district tuition rates within a 75-mile radius. By starting here, you can save tens of thousands of dollars on your education. Plus, Delta provided financial aid to over half its students last year, with $23 million distributed, including over $1 million in scholarships. You may even qualify for free tuition with Michigan Reconnect or the Community College Guarantee!

“I’ve been at Delta for two years. I’ve been fortunate not to have to take out any student loans and still get a quality education,” shared Anthony.

Start here. Transfer anywhere.

Delta has over 180 transfer agreements with universities across Michigan and beyond, making the transition easier than ever. “Come to Delta, explore what you want to do. We’ll get you on the right option based on where your values are leading you and where your future is going to take you,” advises Stacy.
