Many Delta College students are eligible for free tuition this fall thanks to Michigan's new Community College Guarantee program and other existing scholarship opportunities.
These funds are not loans. They do not need to be repaid after college and eligibility to receive these funds is not tied to family income.
Start your future at Delta with the Michigan Community College Guarantee
Did you graduate from a Michigan high school or earn a high school equivalency in 2023 or later? If so, you can pursue your dreams and earn a degree or certificate from Delta College with possible tuition assistance from the Michigan Community College Guarantee.
Beginning Fall 2024, students from the Class of 2023 and beyond may be eligible for the Community College Guarantee, which includes:
- In-district tuition based on contact hours and mandatory fees. For Delta students, ‘in-district’ means you reside in Bay, Midland or Saginaw Counties.
- An additional, up to $1,000, to assist with college costs for students eligible for a Federal Pell Grant.
Next steps to receive the award
To receive the award, you must:
- Complete the most recent Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students are potentially eligible for the Guarantee regardless of the Student Aid Index (SAI) as calculated by the FAFSA.
- Be a Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year. If a student is dependent per the FAFSA, then parent(s) must also be a Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year.
- Have graduated from a Michigan high school or earn a high school equivalency certificate in 2023 or after.
- Enroll full-time in college within 15 months of your high school graduation.
