Delta College has been named a Gold-level status Veteran-Friendly School for 2024-2025 by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA).

MVAA recognizes institutions that are committed to supporting the needs of their veteran and military-connected students. These institutions are awarded gold, silver and bronze-level status based on their veteran-centric services and programs. Delta College is one of 44 institutions to earn gold-level, including public universities and trade schools.

Krystal Sanders, US Air Force Veteran and 2023 graduate of Delta College, shared how easy it was for her to get back into the student mindset. “Delta made everything so seamless and easy for me,” says Krystal. “Once I got in contact with the Veterans Service advisor, she explained to me everything that I needed. I didn’t have to worry about anything.”

Brittany Hodges, Veteran Services coordinator, works with an average of 94 students per semester, providing guidance and application assistance for VA education benefits.

“It is exciting to hear that Delta College has, yet again, been named a gold-level Michigan Veteran-Friendly School. I feel very proud knowing that Delta has maintained this exceptional standard since 2016. We're looking forward to bolstering new initiatives so that we may continue our work of supporting those who have served,” says Brittany.

Veteran and military students make up nearly 5% of Delta’s student population. One key benefit Delta offers all who are funding their education through the G.I. Bill® is the in-district tuition rate, regardless of where they live.
