Delta College’s leadership team announces the appointment of Jon Foco as the new vice president of Business and Finance.

As a former community college student himself, Jon knows the impact Delta can have on its students and the community. “I was the only one of my siblings to pursue college. It’s one of my greatest achievements next to being a husband and father.”

Before joining Delta College in 2019 as the director of Business Services, Jon attended Jackson Community College where he played baseball and earned his associate’s. He transferred to Cleveland State University to obtain his bachelor’s in business administration. Later earning his master’s in the same discipline from Saginaw Valley State University. He began working payroll, and quickly worked his way up, garnering extensive experience in business management, facilities, budgeting and more through his work in the K-12 sector of Bangor Township Schools as their chief financial officer.

Jon has served as Interim Vice President of Business and Finance for Delta College for about seven months and officially secured his new title as VP on October 5. “With his extensive experience in leadership, budget planning, operations and financial forecasting, Jon will excel in guiding Delta financially and strategically,” notes Dr. Michael Gavin, president of Delta College.

“The college is always adapting in response to the changing needs of our students, our community, our faculty and staff,” Jon explained. “I take a lot of pride in the work I’ve been entrusted with; and I take it personally. But it’s very much a collaborative effort between the various departments—such as Student Empowerment and Success, Workforce Strategies, BEDI Services, Facilities Management and others. That continuous collaboration is necessary to ensure the right decisions are being made to respond appropriately to those needs, not just for the moment, but for many years to come.”

Jon expressed his excitement for his part in the continued success of Delta College and its vision of being the national leader in innovation for community college education and its mission of empowering our diverse community in achieving their goals.
