Dr. Rebekah Taussig, award-winning, best-selling author of Sitting Pretty: The View from My Ordinary Resilient Disabled Body, joins us Wednesday, March 19 from 10 – 11:30am on Delta’s main campus in the Lecture Theater (G160) as part of the Delta College President’s Speaker Series.
Dr. Taussig is a mom, a wife, an author, an educator, a disability advocate and a self-proclaimed scrappy misfit. She is regularly invited as a guest for an array of podcasts and her writing is featured in Time. She hosts workshops and speaks at institutions and organizations across the nation, including the University of Michigan, Yale University and Johnson & Johnson.
Dr. Taussig will challenge everything you think you know about disability as she invites us into her experience of living in a body that looks and moves differently than most. A storyteller at heart with a great sense of humor, Dr. Taussig invites us to think bigger and more critically about who has a seat at the table and the barriers that bar others from inclusion.
This event is free and open to the public.
