Michigan Reconnect is once again open to Michiganders ages 21 and older, and this time, the lower eligibility age is here to stay.
The scholarship helps eligible adults attend their in-district community college tuition-free, while students attending an out-of-district community college can receive a significant tuition discount.
To qualify, students must be at least 21 when they apply, have lived in Michigan for at least one year, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and not already have an associate or bachelor's degree.
“It's huge that Michigan Reconnect is available. It’s opening so many opportunities for people who would have never considered going to school,” said Delta student and scholarship recipient Christina Justice. “I mean, four years ago, it wasn't even something I would ever consider again. It's just really wonderful when education can be provided, I'm really grateful that it's an option here in Michigan.”
