Health insurance coding and claims specialists accurately report physician services for reimbursement to each patient's insurance company. They are also required to understand the legal responsibilities of medical office staff members.

Our program prepares you for a career in health insurance coding and claims. This certificate has a common core of classes with the Medical Administrative Assistant Associate in Business Studies degree if you'd like to continue your education and advancement potential.

Professional Licensure

Billing/Coding Advanced Certificate program completers are able to take the national certification exam in medical billing, medical coding or both, if desired, through the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC). These certifications are valid in all 50 states.
