Relationship violence is a pattern of behaviors within a relationship that is used to establish power and control over another person. Some may refer to an abusive experience as dating violence, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, or relationship violence. All of these terms mean that one partner has gained more power and control through the use of fear and intimidation.
