The Charles J. Strosacker Foundation made a commitment to assist in the construction of the new Delta College Downtown Midland Center. Along with other funders, these private sector dollars are critical to completing this project for the students and residents of the Midland community.
Charles Strosacker was an early employee of The Dow Chemical Company, joining Herbert Henry Dow in the early 1900s. The foundation in his name was established in 1957 with a focus of “small in design and primarily local in nature.” With its service to Midland, Saginaw and Bay Counties, Delta College seems a great match when it comes to local impact.
Since 1988, the Charles J. Strosacker Foundation has provided nearly $2 million to support Delta College and its Public Broadcasting stations. Along with the Midland Center, key projects supported were Delta’s Health Professions Building, the Science Learning & Technology Project and renovation of the Carlyon Farmhouse, all located on Delta’s main campus.
