John Krawczyk’s history with Delta College goes back to 1957, when he was a student at Bay City Junior College (Delta’s predecessor).
The Pinconning native continued on to Michigan State University for accounting and served in the Army during the Korean War. He returned to Michigan and eventually made his way back to Delta, where he worked as vice president of Finance for more than 25 years.
His wife, Margaret (Meg) Krawczyk, also attended Delta College.
After a successful career as a preschool and elementary school teacher, she decided
to pursue nursing and enrolled at Delta in 1975. During her time as a nurse, she also
taught at Mid-Michigan Community College and Saginaw Valley State University.
Meg said she has many fond memories of her Delta instructors.
“They put nursing in my blood and I have been committed to sharing it ever since,” she said.
Meg and John split their time between Michigan and Arizona. When they are in the Grand Canyon state, Meg volunteers with the Red Cross and at hurricane and wildfire shelters. She’s also a Parish nurse for her local church.
This same spirit of giving is what led Meg and John to establish a scholarship endowment for Delta College students. The John L. and Margaret H. Krawczyk Scholarship Endowment will assist students for years to come. The scholarship supports both full- and part-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or above.
The Krawczyks are members of Delta College’s President’s Circle, which is a group of individuals who recognize the importance of Delta’s mission and choose to invest in the future of mid-Michigan. Members of this group have donated $10,000 or more to the college and its programs.
Interested in starting an endowment? Many individuals and businesses establish endowments, which are held by Delta College and provide interest that is awarded as scholarships to students.
