Bringing top-quality higher education out into our community.
Delta’s main campus location was chosen to be easily accessible for students from each county in our three-county district – Bay, Midland and Saginaw.
Over the years, there were outreach locations within each county which offered limited
services and courses. In 2018, Delta made it a priority to improve the educational
environment of our Saginaw and Midland centers, to strengthen Delta’s ability to deliver
the highest caliber college instruction and workforce training, matching that of the
college’s other facilities.
Delta’s brand-new Downtown Saginaw Center opened in 2019 and its Downtown Midland Center opened in 2021. (Delta’s Downtown Bay City Center and Planetarium has been offering classes since 1997.)
Enrollments this fall are robust. The Saginaw Center is home to 527 students and 443 students are attending at the Midland Center. This is about a 15 percent increase over fall 2021 numbers.
“We’re so happy to see students again after the pandemic curtailed in-person classes,” said Kristy Nelson, Director of Downtown Centers. “The buildings are beautiful and create a very enjoyable learning environment for students, faculty and staff.”
