ABC News veteran John Quiñones visited Delta College on March 29 to speak with students as part of the President's Speaker Series.
A reception was held in April to honor the 2021 and 2022 Endowed Teaching Chair recipients
which had been delayed multiple times due to COVID restrictions. Above are those who
could attend the recognition event, however others received awards over the past two
years but were unable to attend. Those include David Baker, Steve Gormley, Jim Ham,
Andrea Bair, Nicole Rausch, Amee Schmidt, Christine Yaroch, Connie Sitter, Laurence
Lacreuse, Ralph Worthing, Chris Curtis, Jeff Dykhuizen, Nancy Hartshorn, Susan Harvey
and Spring Schafer.
The Delta College Foundation established an Endowed Teaching Chair Program in 1994 to promote academic quality, recognize excellence in the classroom and encourage faculty to continue to pursue activities that address current educational challenges with creativity, innovation and a sincere concern for facilitating student growth. There are five different Endowed Teaching Chair awards at Delta, named in honor of many leaders of the institution over the decades, including: Donald and Betty Carlyon, Robert DeVinney, Ellucian/SunGard, Karen MacArthur and Dr. Bob Zimmermann.
