The Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship has been helping Computer Numerical Control (CNC) students at Delta College for nearly ten years.
This year, 15 CNC students were awarded a collective $36,000 to aid in pursuit of their manufacturing technology careers.
The Gene Haas Foundation was established in 1999, by Gene Haas, founder and owner
of Haas Automation, Inc. The primary goal of the Gene Haas Foundation is to provide
financial assistance for students interested in manufacturing-based careers and to
build their skills in the machining industry.
They achieve these goals, year-after-year through scholarships for CNC machine technology students, like those at Delta, and by providing them with the experience of team collaboration through a competition that highlights design, engineering and manufacturing with CNC machined parts as a main component.
In addition, CNC training facilities need to be up to par to ensure that graduating students have the skills necessary to be successful when they enter the workforce. In direct reflection of this philosophy, the Gene Haas Foundation outfitted Delta’s CNC lab with millions of dollars’ worth of state-of-the-art equipment on loan for our students’ use.
