Letter from the Delta College Foundation Chair

Paul BarbeauFall, the season of change. A time of maturity and discovery as students return to campus, navigate their way to their dream jobs and nurture their passions along the way—much like some of the featured stories in this issue.

Kindra Manial discovered a way to embed her passion for travel with her chosen career path; Christiana Haight embraces vulnerability as she shares her passion for poetry with the world; Johanna Braun discovered farming is her passion and transferred from a four-year institution into Delta’s agriculture program; and Delta faculty fulfilled a 20-year dream of sharing their passion for astronomy through the production of a new observatory on Delta’s main campus.

For me, I’ve always had a love for baseball and supporting my community, which led me to twelve years leading the Great Lakes Loons and Michigan Baseball Foundation before joining Dow in 2018. My career has enabled many opportunities to serve my community, including joining the Delta College Foundation Board of Directors in 2018. As you navigate your way through life, ask yourself, ‘What can I do or what am I already doing to infuse my passions with my life? What have I always wanted to pursue?’ Passion is what gives life meaning; and only you can discover what that passion might be.

As the Chair of the Delta College Foundation Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the fall issue of Journeys!
