Food Processing Lab

April 8, 2022

MSU Food processing labMichigan State University's Institute of Agricultural Technology mobile food processing lab will be at Delta College on Tuesday, April 26, outside M wing. The lab is part of the Food Processing, Technology and Safety program offered in partnership with Delta College.

"The lab offers hands-on experiences to students," said Leslie Siefka, program coordinator. "The mobile lab mirrors what students will see in the industry once they graduate, just at a smaller scale."

Mobile lab demonstrations will focus on highlighting the unit operations of pasteurization and washing vegetables along with discussing trailer accessories and food safety procedures. No food products will be processed during the demonstrations, but there will be plenty to observe and discuss! Tours are available from 9-11am and 1-3pm for anyone interested in learning more about the program.

To tour the lab or for more information about the program contact Leslie Siefka, program coordinator at siefka@msu.edu or call 989-686-9350.
