Delta College, CMU announce teacher education transfer pathway

November 15, 2023

Delta College continues to make earning a bachelor’s degree more reachable through its new transfer agreement with Central Michigan University (CMU).

This degree pathway provides a natural bridge from Delta College’s Associate in Arts (AA) degree to CMU’s Bachelor of Science in Education, (Early Childhood and Elementary Education) B.S. Ed.

Under this new agreement, students can continue their education by transferring their entire associate’s degree to CMU, allowing students to complete half of their bachelor’s degree at Delta’s affordable tuition rate.

“Education is one of the top 10 programs selected by Delta students who plan to transfer,” said Emily Clement, associate director of transfer partnerships. “With this transfer agreement, students have an easy way to continue their education with a great, local university. For even more flexibility, CMU offers this program online.”

Delta continues to work with its university partners to create customized transfer pathways that maximize credit transfer and convenience.

In April, Delta partnered with Saginaw Public Schools and Saginaw Intermediate School District for the “Grow Your Own” apprenticeship program to provide formal educational training to address and replenish the teacher shortage. This transfer agreement is another way for those students to earn their bachelor’s.

CMU representatives are available on the main campus in the University Transfer Center in D102 to discuss this Off-Campus Teacher Education Program or any of their programs. For more information, contact Academic Advising at advising@delta.edu or 989-686-9330.
