Delta College will celebrate its 62nd commencement ceremony on Friday, April 28, at 6pm in the Pioneer Gymnasium on the main campus. 

More than 400 graduates are expected to be in attendance for the event.

“Commencement is a significant milestone for our students and our way to celebrate their achievements of which we’re incredibly proud,” said Dr. Michael Gavin, president of Delta. “Our students represent the best qualities of Delta and the good we want to put out into our community.”

Each year, two graduates are selected to speak at commencement. This year’s presenters are Sesa Graham, Caro, and Simone Hardy, Saginaw.

Graham is earning her associate degree in applied arts in journalism and integrated media and is graduating with honors. With a passion for mental health, her goal is to write for a mental health organization.  

Hardy serves as the Delta College Nursing Association president. She plans to complete her associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees to become a nurse practitioner.

The ceremonies will be broadcast live from Delta’s Facebook page.

Delta College is one of the nation’s leading community colleges, known for graduates who make a difference in our communities. In fact, 97 percent of graduates in the last five years live in Michigan, and 83 percent reside in Delta’s service area – Bay, Midland and Saginaw counties.
