For the fifth consecutive year, Delta College has been designated as a Military Friendly®
School by Victory Media. Now in its eighth year, the Military Friendly® School designation provides service
members and their families with information about post-military education and career
opportunities.
The designation is awarded to the top universities and community colleges in the country
that are dedicating resources to ensure military students are successful both in the
classroom and after graduation.
“Delta College is very pleased to be nationally recognized as a Military Friendly
school again this year,” said Dr. Jean Goodnow, President. “We are committed to providing
veterans the support services they need to get the education and training required
to pursue a civilian career.”
“To demonstrate that commitment,” she added, “earlier this month Delta College unveiled
its new Student Veteran Center. Thanks to a $7,000 grant from Home Depot and Student
Veterans of America, Delta College student veterans now have a one-stop-shop that
is welcoming and private. It allows student veterans a place to do things like get
their GI Bill® started, hold chapter meetings, study and connect with other veterans.”
Currently, there are about 300 students using their military educational benefits
to attend Delta College.
Delta College will be showcased along with other 2017 Military Friendly Schools in
the annual Guide to Military Friendly Schools and on militaryfriendly.com/schools.
