Delta College recently welcomed these new employees to leadership roles. Delta employs nearly 500 full-time faculty and staff, with about 20 percent having worked at the college for 20-plus years.
Dr. Martha Crawmer, residing in Saginaw, has been hired as the Dean of Teaching and Learning. Dr. Crawmer
comes to us from Springfield, Ohio with 16 years combined experience as a Dean at
community college institutions. As the Dean of Teaching and Learning at Delta she
will promote best practices and excellence in teaching and learning to ensure student
success by providing leadership for all academic divisions.
Sarah DuFresne, CPA, residing in Essexville, has been hired as the Controller. She comes to us with
a Masters in Educational Leadership and with 21 years of experience at Bay City Public
Schools, 9 as the Director of Finance and Accounting. As the Controller, she will be responsible for all college budgeting, accounting and financial activities.
Kristi Kozubal, JD, residing in Bay City, has been hired as the SBDC Regional Director. She comes
to us with a Juris Doctor Degree and 10 years of experience as a business, real estate
and trust attorney representing small business owners. As the SBDC Regional Director
she will provide comprehensive leadership, oversight, planning, resource development,
coordination and management of the SBDC Regional Center.
Dr. Elsa Olvera, residing in Saginaw, has been hired as the Director of the Educational Opportunity
Center. She comes to us with 9 years combined experience in higher education as well
as 8 years of experience as the Director of Community Educational Services for the
City of Saginaw Public School District. As the Director of the EOC, she will be responsible
for every facet of community outreach to meet all goals and objectives for the EOC
while enforcing all federal and institutional policies.
Andrew (Drew) Ornelas has been hired as the Coordinator of Veteran Services. He comes to us with 5 years
of experience in a high school setting, and 24 years in the military. He was awarded
the Combat Infantryman Badge, Airborne Wings and two Bronze Stars. As the Coordinator
of Veteran Services, he will promote benefits awareness and utilization as well as
work with the VA regarding benefits distribution. He will also provide course advisement,
transfer and career support and assist with college recruitment.
