Credit-by-Examination (CBE)
 Please note:
  • Credits earned through Credit-by-Exam will not transfer to other colleges or universities.
  • You may not be currently enrolled in the class, nor have taken it previously.
  • Credit-by-Examinations receive a pass/fail. You will not receive a grade. If you choose the credit option, credits will be posted to your transcript.
  • Some courses require prerequisites. Refer to the current Delta College catalog to determine if you have met the prerequisites before registering for an exam.
  • View all classes that offer a Credit-by-Exam.
  • Fees are $60.00 per credit hour, or $35 for a waiver (no credits applied to transcript).  Fees are nonrefundable and non-transferable.
  • To register for a Credit-by-Exam, please locate the correct contact for the course in the above section.
Credit-by-Portfolio

With Credit-By-Portfolio, you get college credit for related work experience equivalent to that taught in the classroom. There is a submission process (along with a $60.00 per credit hour fee). Not every subject can be taken by Credit-By-Portfolio, but if successful, the earned credits are recorded on your transcript and are applied to your Delta degree.

You only get one shot, but if you can show you know what’s taught in the class, it’s a good way to gain credit and save quite a bit of cash.

Also, you can only earn 38 total credits from Credit-By-Portfolio. The rest? You need to get those in the classroom.

Please contact your program of study for Credit-by-Portfolio options and information on how to register.
