It's time to check your online security. In conjunction with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Delta College is hosting a virtual cybersecurity awareness seminar on October 20 and October 25 via Zoom.
“If You Connect It, Protect It! Securing Devices at Home and Work,” a one-hour course
hosted by Kris Howery, lead instructor for Delta College’s cybersecurity program,
will educate participants on the importance of securing computers and protecting private
data. The event is free and open to the community.
Howery, associate professor of computer science and information technology, along
with students enrolled in Delta’s Cybersecurity program will discuss online protection,
email security and firewalls, password security and how to properly store passwords.
The course will be offered twice on Zoom:
- Friday, October 20, 7pm – Meeting link
- Wednesday, October 25, 2pm – Meeting link
Delta College’s cybersecurity associate’s degree program and the college are a designated National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber
Defense Education, jointly sponsored by the U.S. National Security Agency and the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
